This sector can be broken down into the sectors organisation and administration.

Organised administration comprises all administrative activities and is usually found in an institutional framework in public authorities, public institutions and companies as well as in other associations of persons. Many disciplines use the term "administration" in different ways, and here a distinction between public and private administration seems to make sense.

Administrative science deals with public and state administration. Administrative law is a branch of public law. A functioning administration supports political control and the maintenance of state systems.

Training in the field of administration includes, among others, administrative assistant, administrative business administrator, judicial business administrator and bailiff.

There is a dual course of study in the fields of administrative economics, administrative informatics, counselling for education, profession and employment as well as civil servants in the higher customs service.

Special courses of study in the field of administration include Public Management, Public Administration and General Administration.
